Crystal lake

The snow crystals were beautiful in the afternoon sun and after half an hour pottering around the 1km cross-country circuit at the foot of the village we took the dog for a stroll in the snow. This is one of the lakes on the summer golf course, barely recognisable in its new-seasonal attire!

A big thanks to EyetoEye for introducing me to the sport of cross-country skiing all those years ago. I'm still working on the technique but no tumbles on the flat today! Was it a coincidence that we had the circuit to ourselves for that half hour?
