Marais Reflections
Walked down to the reedbeds early this morning in the hope of finding some interesting birds. It was grey and still - good weather for listening to curlews and other shorebirds, as well as the regular pop of guns. Oh yes, it's Sunday so the hunters will be out in force! (Glad I remembered to wear something pale.)
In fact the monochrome landscape and distant sound of churchbells made me think about Flanders Fields - not for the first time - and ponder on the fact that some men still love to parade around with guns in the midst of a quiet, beautiful landscape. What is it with these guys...?
