The Little Theatre, an ongoing haunt of mine and one of the homes of the Bath Film Festival. It still has a slightly shambolic feel, but gone are the says when the organisers used to turn up half an hour late to the screening because they forgot what time it was supposed to be.

Today's film was Charulata, a beautiful, stately old film by Satyajit Ray.It was one of the 'F' rated films thanks to the restrained power of the central performance (Madhabi Mukherjee), and I think it would pass the Bechdel Test - but only just.

It had a 'U' rating but the festival decided to pair it with a decidedly un `U' rated documentary short about a California drag queen - I'm fairly sure they hadn't looked at it beforehand!
