Inlcuded in the 'holiday package' was free admission to Threave Gardens. With no better ideas for the day we walked up for 10.30 to find it shut .... opening times had recently been changed. Spent half an hour bird watching (nuthatches, chaffinches and tits) until we could get in.

Not the best time of year to go round gardens. Most plants had been cut back to less than a foot and there wasn't much colour. The highlight of the day was watching a red squirrel in the woods . Lunch in the cafe was very good.
