Mt Ruapehu
I am taking the advantage of time zones and problematic downloads to load a second picture from my train trip. I struggled to capture this mountain for so many miles. It was either grey or obscured by other hills etc. eventually I got a view like this and think I have salvaged at least a blip to showcase the variety of scenery you experience in New Zealand.
This is Mt Ruapehu. It is nearly half a million years old. It is the highest peak (2797 metres) in the North Island and the only one with glaciers.
I travel tomorrow night so expect the unexpected with my blipping until settled in Hong Kong. I will catch up when I am there.
