Neutral Tones

There are some days for which the only suitable adjective is 'grey'. Today is one of them; dull, damp and cloudy. So even for a confirmed optimist like myself, it's a case of making the best of it and finding ways of keeping myself busy. Mostly that means looking after Mum and finding ways of entertaining her, as she finds this time of year particularly hard going with not being able to get out much. Good ways of helping to pass the time include: making a cake together (date and walnut loaf); doing the crossword together; reading aloud to her; and just being an attentive listener while she talks about family history.
