Diving in a wheelchair

Sue Austin is a performance artist who uses a wheelchair, and today I went to hear her speak at Napier University where she was appearing as part of their 50th anniversary celebrations to promote and enhance their approach to inclusiveness.

She is an inspirational speaker and one of her aims is to challenge preconceptions about disability through her artistic practice. She spoke about the freedom which being in a wheelchair gives her, and how she came to be a deep sea diver who uses a specially adapted wheelchair.
