Anyone for the Pilchard?

What a beautiful day Devon has produced for us today. We decided that we wanted to have a good bracing walk on the beach and chose to head for Bigbury on Sea. Lucky for us the tide was out and so we were able to walk over to Burgh Island where there is a pub called the Pilchard Inn and a 1920's hotel. The photo shows the pub as we walked back down to the beach. Lunch here was looking a little expensive so we took a circuitous route back over the beach to Bigbury and sat in the sun eating some delicious burgers. Somehow it was hard to believe it was the end of November!!
Salcombe was our next stop where we had a good walk around before we nearly froze and ended up in a pub where we had a delicious cream tea and thawed out...well it would be rude not to while we are down here!!
No supper for us tonight so we are relaxing in the cosy cottage once again..there are games to be played and gin to be drunk!!
