House Sparrows on Sunflower Seed Head

Over the last couple of days the house sparrows have started taking the sunflower seed from the slowly disintegrating rotting seed heads.
On a couple they can get in from above through the soft sepal part, but with the other they have to come in underneath the hanging head. Needless to say there are often altercations, this is the moment before.
