Dr Sara

IN the Arabian souk today - fortunately accompanied by Dr Sara who is a wonderful haggler negotiator! She gets married in two month's time. There will be a thousand people at her wedding. The legal part takes place at the mosque and she will not be there. Only the fathers meet to sign the contract!

However this is a surprising place. I have met several young women doctors and they are bright, confident and in control. I notice that their attitude to their older male colleagues is respectful, but never deferential. It feels like they may gently change some things...
