North Berwick, Scotland
Today we headed off to North Berwick, a short 30min train ride from campus. It's a small, quaint town with a lovely beach and some cute little shops.
During the day we visited the National Museum of Flight where you can walk around a Concorde, jet fighters and much more. To get to the museum you catch a bus and make the 20min trip out to the museum which used to be the old Air Base for Scotland. Walking around you can see the remains of bomb shelters scattered around the fields and count the many plane hangers which are filled to the brim with all types of aircraft - from commercial to military.
Walking through North Berwick we stumbled upon a small fair which consisted off a few small stores selling hand made goods. At the back was a small cafe, which was family owned and run, where we had a nice bowl of warm soup for lunch.
Ending the day off with a walk along the beach - even with it being one of the coldest days we've had so far - was so peaceful and quiet.
