Our local male pheasant returns

We've just begun to feed the birds again this winter so our local male pheasant is back to scavenge the fallen fat and seeds. Usually the females arrive before him (they often seem braver) but not this year. He'd just spotted the postman as I took this so he's looking a bit wary.

We've had friends for lunch - Ann's just taken them back for their train leaving me with a few minutes to catch up.
