"The Rain in Spain Falls Mainly on the Plane"...

….or maybe the rain in Chicago??

Today I headed to the US for a week of vacation – timed so that I can spend Thanksgiving with my relatives in Michigan. It was pouring with rain as we took off from London. I was looking forward to some relief from what has been a very wet and grey few days in the UK. However, when we landed in Chicago, the weather was very much the same.

This is the little commuter plane that was just about to take me on the short flight across Lake Michigan. I was amazed that there were no significant delays due to the weather. However, when coming into land in Muskegon. the pilot did have to abort the landing and did another go-around due to fog and low visibility. I was very happy he was able to safely land the second time around!
