Utter clutter
When in Edinburgh, I generally make it my business to highlight its better side, and sometimes its quirky side.
George Street - after the latest round of 'renovations' - is neither of these. It's a mess. It ostensibly has a cycle lane (sole use cycles), but some car drivers (see picture) have trouble coming to terms with this. It has these ridiculous wedding marquees all the way along, that are incredibly ugly. At present, it has Christmas decorations, some powered by loud and unsightly generators. And it has so much street furniture, including noticeboards telling you what an important Georgian treasure the new town is (:-)), that you can barely move.
What an utter mess.
