Heliconia

Montserrat's national flower, used for nesting by the Montserrat Oriole, Montserrat's national bird.
I took this photo just after we finished our first herptile survey, which consisted of scrambling up a forested hillside looking for reptiles and amphibians to weigh, measure and record. In need of lunch, I didn't spend enough time to ensure the camera focused on the flower!
