Gravity Glue

Dear Diary,

We are bracing for quite a storm this afternoon through tonight. This stone cairn will not look like this tomorrow! It is just down the road from my house. I love this new craze of balancing rocks...you see them everywhere. Even the biggest, oddest shaped rock can be balanced if you do it right and with a little help from gravity.

Of course, Taoism has told us that for hundreds of years...seek balance. It is the true nature of the universe. This winter storm is just an interlude, it will be balanced by the gentle rains of spring...winter's cold balances the summer heat. When we accept that, work with what is and let the natural cycles balance themselves everything is fine.

But humans don't want the dark, only the light...not the storm, only the fair sky. I suppose it is just our nature but we should take a lesson from the universe. Living in balance is the best way to life. I will try to remember that tomorrow as we are feasting at the table of thanksgiving. Balance...don't overdo that stuffing!

Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance, order, rhythm and harmony.
