Ruddy Shelduck

I love to watch the Ruddy Shelducks at Bremen's Bürgerpark.

This handsome fellow, however, seems to be a bit on the lonely side. He's the only shelduck I've seen for weeks. What happened to his mates? He follows a gaggle of Bar- Headed Geese around, in a somewhat distracted way. Such a sad sight!

I hope the park authorities are planning to find new mates for him this spring.
