Internacional Day for the Elimination of Violence

Today a group of us went to the theatre - we went to support a theatre group made up of Women who have lost their sons, friends or partners in the conflict through Crimes committed by the Colombian State. One of the Women had a son who had a learning disability, couldnt read or write and at the age of 26 was shot by the army who declared him a terrorist narco-guerillero. The mother brought the soft toy that he used to walk around with.
Another Woman was inprisoned for over 6 months with no charge brought Against her but acussed of being a terrorist sympathizer and student revolucionary. Whilst in prison she made a friend, another young Woman from a public university Also acussed of similar Crimes, when they were released , her friend was disappeared and murdered.

The play was very powerful.
