Seminar!

Today I attended an investment seminar held by the financial advisor - actually he's a chartered financial planner. It was on two topics being how he chooses the various investments and the ratings system which all became somewhat complicated when he introduced the filter systems as well! There was also a lot of discussion about the relevance, if any, of past performance which was interesting.
The second session was on the new pension rules which are coming into force next year. This does not directly affect me but the possibility of 'free money' from Her Majesty's Government did appeal and as far as he can determine it is all legal and above board. Whilst it is not a lot it seems like an excellent idea to me!
A very good buffet was provided as well so all in all a reasonable few hours and something learned which is always a bonus!
(The only downside was the abundance of decorations which in my opinion should not be present as it is only November)
