Two for the price of one.

A busy day again. A cow in one of the sheds had calved during the night. Moved them out into a pen and dipped the calve's navel in iodine to avoid infections.
The builders appeared to start lining the chimney and fitting the stove. I was a bit worried as I had measured how much steel liner they would need by sticking a set of draining rods up the chimney till they came out the top. 12 rods x 3ft =36 ft. They brought 11meters ! Which is seemingly the same.
The dykers were just about finished fixing all the holes, when another 25ft section fell down in the other day's wind. Looks like they will be here a day or 2 yet. More expense.
On the bright side, when I collected the duck eggs this morning there were 2 a lot bigger than normal. Turned out they were double yolkers. Soon scoffed them in an omelette at lunch time !
