Still murky
Went to the cinema and saw the Alan Turing film. Very good and thought provoking.
This guy developed a computer that decoded German signals during the Second World War. It has been said that his work (together with his colleagues) reduced the length of the war by two years and thereby saved 18 million lives. Within 10 years of the end of the war he was hounded for his sexuality and driven to suicide. Think of how things would of been different if the authorities had "caught" him earlier, before he had produced his computer. Think what was lost to the world by his suicide at the age of 41, what more could he have achieved? What great achievements have been lost by the persecution of others? Why does it still go on? Its stupid
