walking in the rain

I took photos at 4 places today, all from the car. The first two were at roadworks and the third when vehicles travelling east were unexpectedly stopped by police near Kirkby Stephen. As soon as a black car followed by 3 police cars passed by we were allowed to proceed. A VIP perhaps. I've done an internet search and not found anything to indicate this level of police activity on a rural Cumbrian road.
