Grevilleas
in the mist!!
There's no doubt about it, you have to be prepared for all weathers in the Blue Mountains and today proved it. On Sunday we arrived home to plus 40 degree temperatures in Penrith and today we drove through pea soup in Katoomba and beyond. Not a great day to be out taking photographs.
I decided I should blip the beautiful flowering Grevillea that hides itself away at the side of the house. I think the mist and low light really enhanced the colours of the flowers. Some of the blossoms have lost their mojo but I still love their structure. It's like that with a lot of Australian Natives, they can be stunning on so many levels.
Post Script:
It's a sad day today for Australia. Today we lost one of our most talented young cricketers. Phil Hughes passed away after a tragic cricketing accident. Our thoughts are with his family but also the other talented young bowler who will now have to somehow come to terms with what has happened. Life is so precious.
