A comfortable ride?
This morning I had to take my car for it's MOT and as it would only take an hour I sat and waited - although the complimentary car wash and vacuum took another hour so I wandered around the show room looking at all the display vehicles - out of sheer boredom, I really am not interested in cars.
They had many vintage cars on display, including this model from 1903. The Mercedes was first marketed in 1901, and that was after Bertha, (Karl Benz's wife) decided one day to take their prototype out on a jaunt - she went with two of her sons, and after buying a bottle of petrol from the chemist she managed to cover about 180 kilometres despite getting stuck many times, her sons having to push on a few occasions. She ingeniously used a hairpin and a garter to repair problems with the carburettor that she encountered on her journey. So you see, it was really all down to a woman that the Mercedes Benz got launched...
Thank you so much for your stars and hearts on yesterday's blip, it has just made the spotlight! If anyone would like to see more shots of London at night, you can look here.
