It's coming!

Another head-down, phone-bashing, keyboard-pounding day. Then late this afternoon I popped into the village for some provisions.

Had a long chat with the supermarket fishmonger about sourcing of salmon, and the difference in taste between fish from different retailers. The key, apparently, is in fish farmed in Scottish sea lochs, where the tide bringing new water keeps the salmon in peak condition. The test will be in the eating at supper tonight.

This big, freshly decorated Christmas tree at the shop entrance was a reminder of how the festive season looms. It is only four weeks away, eek. All I have bought so far is some wrapping paper. Is it Scrooge-like of me to wish that the run-up to Christmas could be limited to December? It seems to start earlier every year, and go on for so long that the sparkle seems a bit diminished by the time Christmas Day comes.

Turkey is on the table today across 'the pond' in the US. Happy Thanksgiving everyone, especially American blippers.
