We rent bikes while we are in India to get from A to B without having to rely on the autos ... (we will be hiring other bikes for our bike tour in December) but these we get from our local bike 'place' run by Mr Jolly .. and he is! However we ask for bikes with gears and suspension as we do some longish rides and that kind of bike is unheard of so he orders them in specially for us. And they have a disc brakes which are a nightmare .. and here you see them intently working on them so that they are not locked onto the wheel.. Once sorted we set off back for home here about 5 miles and the brakes started to lock on again so we had quite an unplanned work out just getting back .. and called Mr Jolly who promptly sent one of his men in an auto to fix the bikes at our home.. Not convinced that they are totally sorted but the customer service support is superb and he would not take anything for the trip...

Most of the men wear dhotis .. you can see in the photo.. managing the dhoti takes about 20% of a man's daytime activities!
