Rural shortcut

Took ma out for a visit to her dear friend who remembers me as a small baby in ma's arms little after our arrival in Indonesia, where we then lived our years in the tropics and their friendship was deepened. We'd agreed upon our visit a few days before on the phone and today's meet up was lovely again. Neither of them can travel by public transport anymore and regret that, but accept that now.
Both friends suffered setbacks in their health but live at their own homes with some care still and actually would not like to live in a nursinghome. Ma's friend talked about her present situation and ma about their past as she does not remember her present ~ all talks and seeing one another again pleased us three.

Driving homewards again I took the shortcut from Rotterdam to Den Haag and stopped there for a few pix at dusk ~ this rural road as shortcut is well liked by many commuters; by me for its panorama's and like the daily users I like it too as it keeps me out from time consuming traffic jams on the highway
