Giant Buddha on the banks of the Mekong river in the Golden Triangle just past Mae Sai. After travelling up from Lampang after a great night in the River Lodge . The food was superb if a little slow coming. Beautiful setting among tree filled gardens. We passed the White Temple at Chiang Mai.( Brief Stop) then on to the Mekong River for a boat trip and a visit to the Market in Laos just across the border. Sailed up the river bank in Myanmar (Burma) but did not land. Back in Chang Rai , looks an interesting town. Going out to eat then visit to the Night market. Tomorrow we actually get to stop in one hotel for 3 nights..
