Southwell
A really great day out today in Southwell, Nottinghamshire with my buddy Alison.
We made a beeline for the Minster and ended up spending most of our time there. A good look round was followed fortuitously by a lunchtime concert. Listening to an incredibly skilled violinist whilst eating sandwiches and drinking tea in the choir stalls was a real treat.
We just managed to cram in a trip to the British Horological Institute on the way home. No clocks unfortunately as the Institute only opens its doors for three days a year but as the rather wonderful Clock House Cafe is open every day we were able to fortify ourselves with green tea and pistachio cake and tea in dainty china cups before the trip home.
