Old Bat

I met up with a pal to walk down the river Almond from Cramond Brig to Cramond and back again. I noticed this sitting on the wall of someone's house on the way. We saw many mallards, and just below the waterfall a couple of male goosanders, with an SPCA person and a large net trying to catch one of the male goosanders. Someone had phoned up as she was worried that one had a broken wing. However the goosanders were determined to stay over the other side of the river, but appeared to be dabbling away quite happily.

At Cramond, we saw the flash of turquoise of a kingfisher but again right over the other side of the river so out of camera range, but within binocular range so we admired from afar. On the way back, we saw a dipper, but it didn't stay around to be photographed.
