Old Dalkeith Road
Acting on a tip off from lippinfou, I dropped the older Ciglette at his seat of learning, and huckled the younger Ciglette into the waiting car and trekked off to Cameron Toll in search of a big Cigs tag on the side of a ruined house at the very start of Glimerton (sic) Road.
The passing of the seasons affects the choice of blips somewhat; I wish I'd done my Edmonstone ones in spring before nettles had taken hold. As it was, when I was there in summer, I had shorts and as any fule know, shorts and nettles is not a winning combination.
But I'd been tipped off by Bill's Ben that there were some around Cameron Toll in early spring. Sure enough, I spotted them, but by then the hawthorn and beech were in full leaf and the tag was largely obscured.
So as autumn has moved into winter, there are a number of the city's 8th finest tagger's pieces that are revealing themselves.
Black infill with red spots, white outline; dated 2014. Unusually no emoticon smiley type thingy in the dot on the 'i'. And almost ironically given some of his earlier faux pas, there are painted on drips. Very post modern.
