Weird Sunset at JFK

We left my son Raphael's house in New Jersey early this afternoon, and drove to JFK, where we're now waiting to board our plane to London--not a time of year when we would normally travel there, but we have good reason--stay tuned.

I don't know what the vivid spikes in this shot are caused by--perhaps jet trails which have expanded? I'd be delighted if you would treat the vivid clouds as a Rorschach test and tell me what you see in them :) Try it LARGE!!
