A New Barista.
The decorators arrived at the crack of dawn today, I had to go down in my dressing gown to let them in. Now I'm a waste of space in the morning until I've had breakfast and it was quite late when we'd finished giving instructions (our opinions on colour schemes had changed again) and, without the use of the kitchen, we went to our usual Friday lunch venue for breakfast; we had what we normally have - just a bit earlier than normal.
We were served by a new (to us) girl; she may have been called in because the roadworks outside are now completed so that there was a vast influx of customers, it may be because trade is boosted by the approach of Christmas, or it may be that one of the girls is pregnant and is winding down ready for maternity leave. It could even be a combination of all three.
What-ever.
The fact is that, instead of one of the usual girls telling me what I wanted, I was actually asked and, instead of having a pretty fern pattern on the top of my coffee, I had this tulip.
At my time of life, I'm not comfortable with all these abrupt changes in routine.
I've just posted last Saturday's "Farmhouse."
