Burnt over Manuka and Sorrel

Love the colour of the sorrel seed heads - a rust colour. Is that why I like it?
It is not so good to have in the garden - any little bit regrows like twitch.

This part of the reserve had a fire two years ago.
Actually a bit scary as it was close to houses, and manuka burns hot and fast.
The white and black branches looked great against the red but I did not find the balanced image which I was trying fort.
