A Great Dane

This is Emma, a foreign exchange student from Denmark. She is a great, great, great kid. She has not played a lot of basketball, but she is fast, fast, and a fast learner. All of us on the coaching staff agree that if we had to vote for a Most Improved Player at this point, Emma would win it hands down. In just two short weeks, she has learned so much about American basketball. Her English is solid, but she still calls me on the vernacular I take for granted. "What is an 'outlet'?" she asks, and I grin and explain. While she will get most of her playing time on the junior varsity team, I have placed her on the varsity team so she will get to be with us as much as possible and play when she can. This should add the most to her experience here in the USA. Since we have three Emma's, and two Emily's, we've named her "Emma Denmark." Emma Denmark is one great kid…and one great Dane.
