Need good bread? Try a DIY store in Germany.
Yesterday I found good bread in the most unlikely place - at the Bauhaus, a large DIY store outside Aachen.
Not only was the in-store cafe stocked with a good selection of freshly-baked loaves and pastries (their aroma wafted all the way to the power drills), it also had a staggering array of sandwiches and quiches, all made on the premises. You could get a full breakfast with killer coffee for only 3 Euros.
And, joy of joys, they also had some of the cleanest toilets I have ever seen.
This is a backblip.
