Up too soon?

At the wine bar tonight. Like lots of commercial premises, the Christmas decorations are up already.

I'm old fashioned and remember when Advent was a period of preparation and fasting not unlike Lent. So our Christmas decorations go up the before Christmas and come down on Twelfth Night. That's the season when we try to be Merry.
