Getting towards Stratford on Avon now and the tow paths (where the horses used to walk as they towed the barges from Birmingham to Stratford) have been widened and paved. It was here that they transferred their cargos onto the larger barges plying the River Avon.

Its my intention to walk the length of the canal over the next few months, blip the proof and try to show you parts of Birmingham only available to the old navigators, and holiday makers of today.
