Giddyup

A lovely day, we're warming up (in between times when the aircon is on too cold!). First we went to see if husband's tailor was open on Sunday (which he wasn't). We took the MRT (the Singapore mainly underground public transport system) Circle line, and going back rode it until the end station and walked to the Gardens by the Bay. That was possibly a bit too enthusiastic, resulted in much huffing and puffing and a hint of sunburn. Gardens by the Bay is a futuristic park with so-called supertrees, huge tall constructions planted with shrubs. There's a terrific lightshow with them at night, here's a picture I took of that more than two years ago, when it was just opened. But today's Blip is one of the copies of terracotta Indian horse statues, with a tiny lizard on the reins, doesn't it look as if it's telling the horse to giddy up?

After the walk I fell asleep at the computer, so had a nap before going out to dinner with friends at the Sky and Salt Grill on the 55th floor above the ION mall. Great view and very nice food. And to top it all off we drive on Orchard Road and could see all the Christmas lights and decorations at night. I think there is no place which quite has so much glitter and light in the festive season as Singapore and to think that most of the population doesn't really celebrate Christmas !

Thank you so much for your comments on yesterday view over Marina Bay. The most futuristic architecture seems to be centred around that part of town, but please know that there are many lovely older gems of architecture too. Am afraid I won't be able to show those during the one and a half day that we have left over here, but I've got plenty of Singapore shots on my Flickr photostream. I'm afraid I'm falling asleep again, hope to be able to comment tomorrow.
