Piping Hot

The Perth Winter Festival continued today with market stalls, dancing, singing, camels and the Red Hot Chilli Pipers rocking in the street.

It really is good to have the city so busy. Maybe one year we'll be able to have it all on the main square once the old City Hall is demolished. Maybe!

Oh, and we seem to have stumbled into some St Andrews Day celebrations too. Any excuse for a party is great in my book, but this St Andrews Day really isn't a thing here. Pretty sure we got rid of all this magic-doing saints nonsense a few hundred years ago when John Knox was shouting the odds in this very city.

If you want my tuppence (and you're going to get it): if we are to have a national day then we should wait until we are a proper nation again and have it in the summer.
