The start of summer

Freezing rain on my commute to work this morning.

Heavy duty agent orange rain jacket.

Winter weight fleece bike jersey.

Bare legs (but wishing they weren't).

A tonne of lights flashing on bike and helmet.

Large for a bigger smile :-)

I think I'll give the start of summer a second chance and go with the official start date of 21 December, Summer Solstice (the first of the month is generally accepted to make record keeping easier).

Then again, living in a long, skinny, mountainous country right between two oceans, nature will do ultimately decide the seasons for us. Looking out the window the sun is smiling and I can feel we're into double figure temperatures.
