All the world is not for me
St. Andrew's Day, and here's the famous, and short, Hugh MacDiarmid poem about the white rose of Scotland ...
... it's taken from the pictured, 1988 biography - a book I simply cannot recommend highly enough:
The Little White Rose
The rose of all the world is not for me.
I want for my part
Only the little white rose of Scotland
That smells sharp and sweet—and breaks the heart.
