Time Capsule
noun
a container storing a selection of objects chosen as being typical of the present time, buried for discovery in the future.
For me, that was my Apple Time Capsule on the right in this picture. For three years it was storing away all my chosen objects in the present, just waiting for a future discovery. When our Internet went down the other day and I had to turn this time capsule off, it was stubborn and did not want to come back on. A trip to the Apple store and a talk with a "genius" and the capsule came alive.
Back home now and dumping the data off the time capsule to a ruggedized hard drive via fire wire and the buried data will be retrieved. My new plan, already in progress, is to bury (backup) my data and pictures offsite via a cloud service.
I think it ironic that a pirate sits near my buried treasure. Don't you?
