Do not Feed or Molest!

I thought this sign would be something my husband would like, so I asked him to stand next to it yesterday at a park we visited, before he really got to read what the sign said : 0)

We took some time yesterday to visit two parks in St. Petersburg, FL. We hadn't gone on a date for a while and agreed we liked the idea of walking the nature trails. Fresh air, photographic opportunities and FREE admission all sounded good. First, we visited Sawgrass Lake Park: 400 acres in size, it allows people to walk through one of the largest maple swamps on the Gulf Coast of Florida. The park’s mile-long boardwalk and half-mile dirt trail provide opportunities to see birds, butterflies, plants and animals in their natural settings . . . Phew! We must of walked for an hour, at least? I dance a lot, but it certainly felt different walking at a brisk pace for that long. A little tiring, but good!

We also visited Wheedon Island Preserve. Steven had been kayaking there before, but this time we walked the boardwalk and climbed up an observation tower. Weedon Island Preserve is an expansive 3,000-acre natural area on Tampa Bay in north St. Petersburg. It is comprised mostly of marine ecosystems with some uplands. Yes, alligators can be in these places and that why they have those signs, but we did not see any alligators. Not to worry! I certainly would not feed or molest them, which is why we laughed at the sign, but you never know what some people will do . . . .
