Basel Christmas Lights Switch On

It may be only Thursday but it's the start of a long weekend for me! My friend David from home managed to find a last minute deal for flights to Basel and has flown out to visit me for a few days. We got back from the airport just in time to go see the Christmas lights get switched on in Münsterplatz. Pre-switch on entertainment included a French horn ensemble and a choir singing Christmas carols - all enjoyed while sipping some mulled wine of course!

Afterwards we wandered around the old town as the Christmas markets had just opened and then went back to my apartment to plan and book some more last minute travels!
