Winter waves beyond safe harbour

We had the rental car for one more day so we decided to go to Pittenweem in Fife for the afternoon. I thought it would be good to check out some of the galleries there for potential Christmas presents. (yes I have to start thinking about that now!) It took us ages to get there, longer than I thought, the traffic was terrible going out of Edinburgh so we didn't get there till late afternoon. We took a stroll around the harbour first. The waves were crashing up over the arm of the harbour wall quite ferociously. Comparing the little fishing boats to the might of the sea made me think about what a risky job it is.
We then made our way up the hill and browsed around the galleries and shops that were open. It's a lovely little place, in the centre of town they were having Christmas carols before turning the town lights one, the lights consisting of three small trees. They also had Santa in a house down a little alley way giving the children presents. It was all very quaint and atmospheric and it made the dark and dreary evening seem warm and inviting. A heart warming experience!
