Christmas Lights
Day three of my black and white challenge.
The little lights are Christmas lights strung on a tree in Linlithgow High Street. In the background, we can see the "Crown Of Thorns" that tops the spire of St Michael's Kirk, a church that dates from the 15th century.
When I took this I was thinking that the gaudy lights might represent the commercial face of Christmas, the brooding dark presence of the crown suggesting echoes of Jesus throwing the moneychangers out of the temple in Jerusalem... I don't know if it quite works, though...
