I blipped already about the sudden and tragic death of Phillip Hughes, the Young Australian cricketer.

Today I went to the Adelaide Oval, where I'd hoped to be watching the test warm up between Australia and India.

Instead of the buzz that accompanies a big match, people stood silently, or sobbing, waiting in line to sign the book of condolence.

I wanted to pay my respects on behalf of the cricket family of Greenock Cricket Club - where I'm a member. It felt like the right thing to do.

My heart felt heavy. Rest in peace Phillip Hughes. 63 not out forever.
