Tree Flowers

I stumbled across a lovely tree today and it was covered in these stunning flowers. I don't know the name of it but will do a bit of searching and see if I can find it. Picked a bud and an open flower to play around with at work while I was having my first coffee! :0)

Initially I used the macro lens and got some beautiful shots. The petals are thick and firm like felt and the colours are quite special. Go Large to see the textures!

But I loved the shots from my 'real' camera even more! I took these shots in front of the window in the early morning light and this one in particular stood out.
