a night to remember

my mother in law used to sing for the Philadelphia Opera Company a long time ago. she stopped singing for 30 years. then with the encouragement of her husband, she not only started singing again, she went back to school and got a masters degree in music. tonight was her masters program recital. i've never heard her sing so well. it was a remarkable performance. the audience demanded an encore. my wife and daughter went up on stage and accompanied her, and as she finished her last song of the evening, the audience sang along with her during the chorus. gave me goosebumps.
